National Executive Recommends Acceptance of Public Service Stability Agreement 2018-2020

I come to you from The Sheraton Hotel in Athlone where we are meeting for our annual Autumn Seminar.

I want to thank all Branch members who have travelled for this re-scheduled meeting.

Public Service Stability Agreement (PSSA) 2018-2020

One of the main agenda items today is the National Executive’s position on the Public Service Stability Agreement. We are recommending acceptance of the agreement.

Addressing delegates this morning, President Antoinette Cunningham said:

By rejecting the agreement our members would be doubly punished. Firstly, by deferral of increments and secondly by withholding any agreed pay rise which cannot be retrospectively negotiated.

“With the onset of legislation it would be impossible for AGSI to influence pay in any case. So with deep reluctance, we as an Executive ask you to accept the agreement.
