General Secretary John Redmond says, “As we enter a sixth austerity budget the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors is mindful of the continued constraints on budgets across all Government Departments.
“However we are also mindful of our responsibility to deliver a high-end and responsive service to the people of Ireland. With this in mind we enclose our pre-budget submission giving due regard to our members’ interests.”
AGSI has outlined a number of recommendations under five key headings:

- Investment in Infrastructure
- Welfare & Rights
- Civilianisation
- Reform of An Garda Síochána
