On Friday 11th October 2013 Inspector Rita Delaney retired from an Garda Síochána and her posting at Change Management in Garda Headquarters.
A final function to mark Rita’s retirement was held in Garda Headquarters last Friday and many of her friends and colleagues attended to wish her a long and healthy retirement.
Rita was one of the elected Trustees of the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors and held her last meeting with the National Executive on Wednesday 9th October.
Tributes were paid to Rita for her dedicated work as a of Trustee of the Association by President Tim Galvin and fellow Trustee Chris Cronin.
Tim Galvin says, “Rita was as a stalwart in her profession, showing great commitment and dedication to her job as well as a great interest in the welfare of her colleagues. She will be sincerely missed.”
