Calls on Garda Management to release full document immediately

The Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors (AGSI) is deeply concerned by the reported contents of the Crowe Report, which appears to be highly critical of how An Garda Síochána, under Commissioner Harris’ leadership, has overseen and supported personnel within a specific section of the organisation, namely Roads Policing.

Despite its serious implications for our members, the supervisory and middle management of An Garda Síochána, the report has not been released to this Association. As a result, AGSI is prevented from commenting in any informed way on its contents or responding meaningfully to the public commentary surrounding it.

This lack of transparency and, the manner by which, this report has entered the public domain is symptomatic of the broader dysfunctionality in how consultation and internal industrial relations matters have been handled within An Garda Síochána.

We now call on Garda Management to immediately release the Crowe Report in full to AGSI so that we may review and respond to it constructively and fairly.

AGSI remains resolutely committed to our core mission of Keeping People Safe and to the continuous improvement of standards and performance within the organisation.

While we recognise that reports such as this can be valuable tools for organisational learning and development, we are disappointed by the manner of its release. AGSI believes that the findings of the Crowe Report, once properly scrutinised and understood, should be used as a catalyst for constructive dialogue and progressive reform, not to have the unfortunate consequence of undermining the reputation of hard-working, frontline Gardaí.
