I would like to announce the appointment of John Jacob as the new General Secretary of the AGSI. John was chosen after a competitive round of interviews recently.
John served on two National Executive Committees and has been the Deputy General Secretary of AGSI since April 2013. Prior to joining the AGSI Secretariat full time, he worked in Change Management in Garda Headquarters. He had previously worked in administration, training and as an operational Sergeant in Roscommon and the DMR. This combined experience gives him a detailed understanding of the Garda organisation at all levels and of the operation and functioning of AGSI.
On behalf of the National Executive I would like to congratulate John on his appointment and wish him well in pursuing the interests of members.
Recruitment has now begun for the position of Deputy General Secretary and it’s hoped this role will be filled before Conference in mid April.
