New AGSI President

Cormac Moylan has been installed as President of the AGSI. He will fill the position until the next Annual Delegate Conference in Spring 2019.
Cormac is Sgt in-charge of the Roads Policing Unit in the Athlone District, Co. Westmeath. He previously served as the National Treasurer of the Association.

Speaking this evening, Cormac said:
“I see immediate challenges for the Association as we progress through the strategic transformation programme, and with the soon to be published, report from the Commission on the Future of Policing.

“I also see opportunities for the AGSI to develop an effective dispute resolution process for grievances while gaining access to the WRC.”

Over the course of his Presidency, Cormac indicated that he will continue to address the key issues of concern to our members and escalating these to Garda Management.

AGSI will also continue to monitor the implementation of change and the capacity of AGSI members to accept such change. We must ensure changes do not add to the already extensive workload of Sergeants and Inspectors.
