Galway Branch Members Take Part in Wellbeing Study

Sergeant Anne Boland in Oughterard undertook a study of wellbeing in An Garda Siochana, and her sample study involved members of the AGSI Galway Branch. Anne focused specifically on the Galway Division which was part of her Degree in Human Resource Management at Galway Mayo Institute of Technology.

Anne says her research has highlighted the need for greater emotional support for members who are facing burn-out and post traumatic stress disorder.

Ernie White, AGSI National Executive and Galway Branch Member says, “AGSI has long called for a full review of the Garda Employee Service and as recently as June of this year. Anne’s report, while a small sample, illustrates the gaps in the existing support services for members.”
