General Secretary Antoinette Cunningham has been speaking to the media to express AGSI’s concern about increasing attacks against members of the force and challenges around recruitment and retention.
Speaking to RTE Radio 1, Today with Claire Byrne Show, Ms Cunningham said: “AGSI are bitterly disappointed that the promised 200 new recruits due to start yesterday, fell way short, with 136 joining. This has the potential to be a major political failing if targets set out by Government are not achieved.”
