Christmas Message from AGSI President

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous 2017.

It has been a great honour for me to represent you this year since our Annual Delegate Conference in April.

To say it’s been a taxing and busy year for AGSI members is probably an understatement, however, we have remained firm in our resolve to fight for the right’s of Sergeants and Inspectors.

We expect this work will continue into 2017 and I once again ask you to support your Branch Committee and National Executive members in their work.

In a matter of a few short weeks we will be joining you for the Branch AGMs, and this will serve as another vital opportunity for us to discuss the strategy ahead, in terms of industrial relations and the reform programme.

I would like to also take this opportunity to thank most sincerely the Secretariat and the National Executive who have worked tirelessly this year on your behalf.

To our General Secretary, John Jacob, who has done a stalwart job is steering AGSI this past 12 months, and supported by our new Deputy General Secretary, Donal Smyth who has had a very busy introduction to his new role.

The unending and always professional work undertaken by Alan and Bernie is always appreciated, however I would like to thank them most sincerely on your behalf.

Finally, we asked the Garda Commissioner, Nóirín O’Sullivan, to prepare a Christmas message for you which we include below.

Nollag Shona daoibh go léir.
Kind Regards,

Antoinette Cunningham
President
