The National Executive wishes to extend their congratulations and best wishes to Detective Sergeant Paul Curran, the President of AGSI who has retired from both An Garda Siochana and the AGSI.
Paul chaired his final National Executive meeting at AGSI Head Office on December 11th 2024.
Paul retires from An Garda Siochana having served in Tallaght, Clondalkin, Garda Headquarters and Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau for 35 years in a career that spanned over five decades.
Paul has been a member of the AGSI National Executive since 2018 providing representation to the DMR Region along with Nationwide representation during both his terms in the role of President of the Association.
During his tenure as President of the Association, Paul has exhibited unwavering commitment and dedication to the role and has been a staunch advocate for improving terms and conditions for the AGSI membership.
The National Executive would like to particularly commend Paul for both the decisive and strong leadership qualities along with the strategic foresight that he has brought to the role of President over the last number of years. In particular, the Executive wish to express their gratuity for his strong leadership of the Association which has ultimately benefitted the Association and its membership to an immeasurable degree.
Under the stewardship of Paul Curran, the Association has transitioned and evolved into a dynamic, progressive and well-structured modern organisation. On the occasion of his retirement, Paul leaves the Association well-positioned to meet the challenges of the future.
The National Executive wish Paul Curran a long, healthy and happy retirement and the best of luck with his future endeavours.
