Almost one in four Garda stations across the country had fewer Gardai to tackle crime at the start of this year compared to the 12 months earlier. And 133 stations suffered a drop of 23.4% in staffing levels.
Speaking to Newstalk Breakfast AGSI Deputy General Secretary Ronan Clogher said AGSI is on the record of highlighting the ongoing crisis of recruitment and retention. “It just isn’t an attractive job anymore.”
