AGSI are aware that as a result of the meeting this morning it was outlined by the Garda Commissioner that Garda Management would be ringing around to make individual contact with members.
It was clearly stated that this role would be undertaken by District Officer’s.
The President Antoinette Cunningham has outlined that if asked by her Superintendent if she was available for duty and aware of the Commissioner’s letter she would reply “at this point my intention is to withdraw my labour on 4th November.”
If asked about awareness of the consequences, she said she would reply “thank you for your phone call.”
We would remind you that withdrawal of labour is an individual decision for all members.
