AGSI In The Media

Following our Autumn Seminar on Monday in Athlone, members voiced strongly the need for the Association to improve communications and to increase media profiling. We have previously outlined that engaging the media must be timed appropriately and we must proceed with caution in terms ofwhat debates we get involved in. We never want to take the ‘pressure’ off management and fighting their battles. Below we feature two national media interviews undertaken this week.
National Media Interviews
On Wednesday we had two national radio interviews during which many of the issues raised by delegates at Monday’s Autumn Seminar were discussed on air. So we used the opportunity to reinforce your concerns.
As you know the National Executive met yesterday to discuss the ‘No’ result in the recent Lansdowne Road Agreement ballot and to develop a strategy on this matter.
In this regard we have written to the Workplace Relations Commission advising them we are available for talks.  We are also meeting the Minister for Justice on the 2nd November and this will be the number one item on our agenda.
