The Government has announced that Cavan and Monaghan are to receive three new Garda cars by the end of 2015.
So far this year, 10 new Garda Vehicles been supplied to the force in the Northern Sound Region.
In a statement to Northern Sound News, Minister Heather Humphreys says it has also been announced that the Garda training college in Templemore will welcome 250 new recruits bringing the total of new member joining the force to 550 in 2015.
Minister Humphreys told Northern Sound News that the addition of Garda members and new patrol cars is aimed at combating rural crime.
