Last month Joe Dirwan, General Secretary of the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors (AGSI) and a member of An Garda Síochana retired after 41 years of service.
Today from his home in Co. Monaghan he looks back on his career, his memories of lost colleagues and speaks openly about current changes to policing in Ireland. He spoke to Joanne Sweeney-Burke.
