The Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors has extended its condolences to the family of the Garda shot dead in the line of duty tonight in Omeath, Co. Louth.
Deputy General Secretary of the AGSI, John Jacob, described this evening’s events as “the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.” Mr. Jacob said, “We are grieving for our colleague and extend our deepest sympathies to his wife, three children, family, friends and Garda colleagues in Co. Louth. We are reminded that our colleague left his home today to do his job. There are no words tonight to describe the loss felt among the Garda family.”
