At the outset the President observed a minutes silence for former AGSI National Executive Member Eddie Murphy who sadly passed away in September just weeks after his retirement.
Willie Gleeson thanked outgoing General Secretary Joe Dirwan for his “unflinching and loyal service” at the occasion of his retirement from AGSI and An Garda Síochána.
He also congratulated John Redmond on his impending appointment as General Secretary of the Association.
In relation to the issues facing AGSI members, Willie Gleeson said the National Executive would not be “silenced”.
